Duqm airport new terminal Operation date will be announced soon
The ministry of Transport and communications has stated that the operation date of the new Duqm airport terminal will be announced In the upcoming months .This came after an inspection visit payed by His Excellency Dr.Ahmed Bin Mohammed Bin Saleem Al-Futaisi –Minister of Transport and communications- and His Excellancy Dr.Mohammed Bin Nasser Al-Zaabi , CEO of PACA as well a number of officials from the ministry.
Their Excellences listened to a brief explanation on the construction progress of the new terminal, Air cargo building, air traffic management complex and Control tower. They have reviewed the readiness of Airport’s main systems and the readiness of operation-concerned authorities in dealing with these advanced systems. The construction progress of the new Terminal has reached 96% and only final exterior works and operation tests are left.
The total area space of #Duqm_airport is 8660 meters square with a capacity up to 500000 passengers annually .It contains a ground floor and two lefts, which accommodates to the needs of travelers from Restaurants to retails. #Duqm_airport also comes with two boarding bridges connected to 5 travel procedures booths installed with security e-gates for a smooth travel procedures clearance. The airport will come with a luggage handling belt  for international and domestic flights. It also contains air navigation complex that  include a 37 meters long control tower, navigation services building and meteorology building. There are other buildings like maintenance building, firefighting building security building and the secondary buildings for the terminals cooling systems.
The third package of also included the construction of a 25000 Tons/Yr capacity air cargo building to accommodate to the growing commercial flow in Duqm  which has potential to be expanded in the future.
